The Hospitality Leadership Lab

Not sure what to say in tough leadership moments

Know exactly what to say and what to do when it matters most.

Leadership challenges do not happen in a classroom. They happen in the middle of a shift when you are already dealing with everything else.

Bring a real situation and talk it through. Walk away with a clearer sense of what to say and what to do next.

Small group. Real situations. Clear direction. Immediate action.

Everyday Leadership Challenges

You deal with people situations every shift.

Someone calls out again.

A team member is not doing what they are supposed to be doing.

A conversation you have been putting off needs to happen.

A situation starts to escalate and your team is looking to you.

You know you need to address it. Knowing what to say or do in the moment is not always clear.

What Happens in a Session

  1. Bring a real situation

Share a current leadership challenge you're dealing with (or observe if you prefer)

  2. Work through it together

We guide the conversation and help you think it through step by step

  3. Gain clarity and direction

Identify what will actually work in your situation

  4. Leave with a clear next step

Walk away with a clear next step for your situation

You can participate at your own pace in a confidential, judgment-free space

How We Guide The Conversation

A simple structure we use in each session to move from the situation to a clear next step.

  • Clarify the Problem
Get to the real issue at the core of the situation

  • Identify Actions Taken
Understand what’s already been tried and what happened

  • Review Resources & Barriers
Look at what’s supporting or limiting progress

  • Explore Perspectives
Consider different ways of approaching the situation

  • Generate Solutions
Develop realistic options you can apply

  • Create an Action Plan
Leave with a clear next step for your next shift

This ensures every session leads to real decisions, not just conversation.

How We Think Through Situations

In each session, we work through real leadership situations using a simple leadership thinking process:

  • Notice what’s happening

  • Understand the situation

  • Think through your approach

  • Address it clearly

  • Reflect and adjust

This is not a script or a set of techniques.

It’s a way to think through situations so you can respond with more clarity, confidence, and direction in the moment.

Built From Real Leadership Experience

This Lab is built from real leadership conversations and experience working with hospitality teams in everyday workplace situations.

It is grounded in what managers actually deal with, not theoretical scenarios, and reflects how we think through situations in the Lab.

Each session is guided with practical questions and a clear thinking structure to help you think through situations, make decisions, and take action.

What It Looks Like In Practice

Bring a Real Situation

Come with something that’s actually happening on your team. Conflict, attendance, performance, or a conversation you’re unsure how to handle.

We Work Through It Using A Structured Process

I guide the conversation so you can step back, see what's really going on, and think through your options.

Decide What To Do Next

You leave with a clear approach and wording you can use with your team.

Follow Up Next Session

Share what happened, and we adjust your approach if needed.

Practical Leadership Tools

Leaders also have access to practical tools they can use between sessions to think through real situations.

These tools help you step back, understand what is happening, and decide how to move forward more clearly.

Reflection. Decision-making. Communication. Team leadership.

You walk away with a way to approach situations with more clarity, confidence, and direction.

Who This Hospitality Leadership Lab Is For

This is for hospitality supervisors and managers handling real people situations every day.

It's especially helpful if you've ever found yourself:

  • Replaying a conversation after a shift and wondering if you handled it right

  • Avoiding a discussion because you're not sure how it will land

  • Dealing with the same behavior more than once

  • Trying to be fair while still holding people accountable

  • Feeling caught between staff and upper management

You don’t need a perfect plan. Just a situation you want to handle better.

What You'll Walk Away With

This is not about memorizing techniques.

You leave each session with something you can use right away.

  • A clearer way to approach the situation

  • Words you can use in the conversation with your team member

  • A next step to take after your shift

  • More confidence in your decisions so the situation does not stay stuck in your head

  • A traditional training where you sit and listen

  • Pre-recorded lessons instead of real-time discussion

  • Support without bringing real situations to the table

  • A space where you don’t have to engage or reflect

The Lab is designed for leaders who are willing to bring real situations, think through them, and take action.

If you’re looking for real conversations instead of theory, this is where you belong.
